Good lesson horses are the key to any successful riding program. Ours have been carefully selected for their manners and suitability. The facility stables between fifteen and twenty lesson horses. Some are used for beginners and others are used by more experienced riders for showing and jumping.
Pinot Noir a.k.a. "Finney" (left)
Before Finney was donated to the BTRC program four years ago, she was a Grand Prix jumper. Finney is extremely patient and careful with each and every rider. Because she feels very solid and is easy to get to go, she encourages confidence in her riders. Finney was also voted the BTRC's 2009 Horse of the Year.

Charmed a.k.a "Holly" (right)
If her 75 year old mother ever wanted to ride a horse, the BTRC's Head Instructor would have her ride Holly. That's just one example of how implicitly Libby McNabb trusts Holly. Holly has been with the program from six years and because of her disposition and demeanor, has been an invaluable part of the program. Before her donation to the BTRC, Holly competed in the Amateur/Owner Equitation divison. She now competes in hunter classes at BTRC shows and was voted the BTRC's 2008 Horse of the Year. |
